Chikungunya: 26 Active Cases Recorded in Mauritius

Chikungunya: 26 active cases have been reported in Mauritius.

On April 29, 2025, at 1:39 PM, Shakeel Mohamed announced that the income threshold for eligibility for social housing will be reviewed. The Minister of Lands and Housing emphasized that this measure aims to rectify the injustices of the previous regime. According to him, this revision of the income threshold will take into account the increase in the minimum wage and the depreciation of the rupee, among other factors.

Shakeel Mohamed made these statements after a visit to the NHDC in Tulip Residence, Baie-du-Tombeau, on the morning of Tuesday, April 29. He was accompanied by his colleagues, including Minister Aadil Ameer Meea and MP Ehsan Juman. Shakeel Mohamed will conduct further visits to other NHDC residences, including Roche-Bois.

The objective is to find solutions to the problems faced by residents of NHDC in Baie-du-Tombeau, along Route Militaire, as well as those on Route Abattoir in Roche-Bois. More details can be found in the attached video.
