Ministers Reza Uteem and Ashok Subron expressed their desire to prevent a recurrence of such a scenario. The heavy rainfall warning was lifted early in the afternoon. The Grand Bassin area recorded the highest rainfall with 163 mm, followed by Mare aux Vacoas with 135 mm. Showers are expected in the East, South, and central plateau regions.
Water accumulation and fallen trees have been reported, particularly in Morne and Chamarel. Teams from the SMF, firefighters, and the National Coast Guard remain active on the ground.
