Ukraine: Nearly 30 Injured in Russian Strike on Zaporijjia

Nearly 30 people were injured on Thursday during a Russian strike on the city of Zaporijjia, located in southeastern Ukraine, according to local authorities.

The regional governor stated that several missiles struck a residential area in the morning, damaging buildings, vehicles, and shops. Among the injured, some are in serious condition.

Rescue teams quickly arrived on the scene to evacuate victims and extinguish fires. Search operations are ongoing to ensure that no one is trapped under the rubble.

Zaporijjia has frequently been targeted by Russian forces since the start of the war in February 2022. The city is located close to the front line and houses the largest nuclear power plant in Europe, which is currently under Russian control.

Ukrainian authorities condemned the attack on civilians and called on the international community to increase pressure on Moscow.
