[SSR International Airport] More Carts for Better Passenger Comfort
The Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport (SSR) in Plaine Magnien is modernizing its fleet of luggage carts to enhance the passenger experience, especially with the peak tourist season approaching from November to January.
Currently, around 1,500 carts are available, but many of them needed refurbishment. Nearly 500 have already been repaired and put back into service, thanks to an investment of Rs 1.5 million in spare parts and labor.
Additionally, ATOL, the airport management company, has acquired 300 new carts, representing more than Rs 4 million in investment. Further repair and purchasing operations are planned for the coming months.
"By the end of the year, we should have over 2,400 carts, which is an increase of over 60% compared to our current capacity. These investments reflect our commitment to providing modern equipment and making every step of the airport experience smoother, more comfortable, and enjoyable," stated Lormus Bundhoo, CEO of ATOL.
With this modernization, SSR airport reaffirms its commitment to maintaining international standards and ensuring quality service for its passengers.
