Entrepreneurship: Approximately 275 Participants Receive Certificates After Completing Capacity Building Programs

On August 14, the National Cooperative College (NCC) hosted a graduation ceremony at its Bois Marchand facility to honor the achievements of around 275 participants who successfully completed various capacity building and vocational training programs. These certifications will equip them with the necessary skills to advance their careers and embark on entrepreneurial projects.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Industry, SMEs, and Cooperatives, Aadil Ameer Meea, the NCC Director, Sanjeev Coonjobeeharry, and other dignitaries.

In his speech, Aadil Ameer Meea praised the NCC's pivotal role in shaping the future of Mauritian cooperators, with the aim of empowering Mauritians to achieve economic independence through an inclusive approach that welcomes women and individuals of all ages and educational backgrounds. He emphasized that participants have acquired essential knowledge and skills to establish and manage their own businesses, ensuring ongoing guidance and support from the government.

The Minister of Industry also highlighted that training programs provide participants with opportunities to identify potential partners for collaboration, enabling them to develop their economic and social vision. He encouraged them to register their cooperatives as small and medium enterprises with SME Mauritius Ltd to access government-supported facilities and assistance for cooperatives and small businesses, noting that such initiatives can strengthen entrepreneurial projects and expand their impact within the community.

Furthermore, Aadil Ameer Meea reminded attendees that the NCC has signed two memoranda of understanding with institutions in India and Malaysia, offering Mauritians valuable international expertise. "In the same spirit, foreign experts are regularly invited to conduct training locally, which broadens the exposure and skills of Mauritian cooperators," he added.
