Obituary: Farewell to Alain Rouget, Master of Letters

There are teachers who come and go, and then there are those who leave a lasting impact, long after the bell has rung. Alain Rouget belonged to that rare breed. In the classrooms of the College of Saint-Esprit, he didn’t just teach grammar or correct mistakes; he instilled in his students a love for words, the discipline of a well-constructed sentence, and the joy of a brilliant idea.

He did not flatter or coddle; he got straight to the point, calling out the laziness of a ‘you can...’ and pushing his students to strive for excellence.
