Seizure of Rs 114 million: Investigation Continues

Former Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth has appeared once again before the Pamplemousses court regarding the seizure of Rs 114 million. The prosecutor indicated that the investigation is ongoing. The leader of the MSM party will have to return to this court on January 27, 2026.

For reference, Pravind Jugnauth was arrested on February 15 by the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC), which accuses him of concealing a significant sum of cash, in Mauritian rupees and foreign currencies, amounting to Rs 114 million through Josian Laval Deelawon.

Upon leaving the court, Me Raouf Gulbul, the lawyer for the former head of government, stated that his client maintains his innocence and is available to the investigators.
