Pension Reform: Me Teeluckdharry Questions the President's Position
The gradual increase of the retirement age to 65 continues to stir controversy. Lawyer Sanjeev Teeluckdharry has approached the courts to challenge this measure announced during the budget speech on June 5. Me Teeluckdharry has indeed filed a constitutional complaint.
He held a press conference on this issue on Tuesday, August 19. He specifically questions the position of the President of the Republic, Dharam Gokhool, regarding the approval of amendments to Article 39 of the Finance Bill, which allows for the reform of the pension system.
Sanjeev Teeluckdharry also called on individuals already registered for Income Support, urging them to wait until a court decision is made.
