MRA: Securing Exchanges and Combating Smuggling: The COI Takes Action

In response to the rising issues of drug trafficking, money laundering, terrorism financing, and smuggling in the Indian Ocean, regional states have decided to enhance their customs cooperation. In this context, the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) launched the Customs Committee of the Indian Ocean Commission (COI) on Friday during a ceremony held at the Customs House in Mer Rouge, Port-Louis.

The new committee brings together the customs directors general from various member states to coordinate efforts and strategies against these illegal activities.
