Public Health: Mauritius Relies on Indian Expertise to Train its Doctors

Mauritius is strengthening its cooperation with India in the healthcare sector. A memorandum of understanding was signed on Monday morning, October 6, in Ébène, in the presence of the Minister of Health, Anil Bachoo, and representatives from the Indian medical group Yashoda Hospitals.

This agreement will allow Mauritian doctors to travel to India for specialized training, particularly in cancer surgery, vascular surgery, and kidney transplantation. All expenses related to this training will be covered by Yashoda Hospitals.

According to Anil Bachoo, this initiative aims to address certain gaps in public hospitals and improve the quality of care in Mauritius. More details can be found in the attached video.
