India: Over 20 Dead in Landslide

Landslides caused by heavy rains that fell from Saturday night to Sunday in the Darjeeling region of northeastern India have resulted in at least 20 fatalities, as reported by a parliament member.

"More than 20 people have lost their lives, according to the current toll. Entire areas in the highlands are cut off from the outside world, and roads have been destroyed," stated Harsh V. Shringla, a member of the upper house of the Indian Parliament, on his X account.
