Nobel Prize in Physics Awards Trio for Discovery of Quantum Tunneling Effect

The 2025 Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded on Tuesday to British physicist John Clarke, American physicist John M. Martinis, and French physicist Michel H. Devoret for their work in quantum mechanics.
The trio was recognized "for the discovery of macroscopic quantum tunneling and energy quantization in an electrical circuit," stated the Nobel committee.
