Dog Registration: Service Available at Municipal Councils, Community Centers, and Village Halls Until 2026
Dog registration and microchipping services will be available at municipal councils, community centers, and village halls until June 2026. The announcement was made on Tuesday, October 7, by the Minister of Agro-Industry, Arvin Boolell, in response to a parliamentary question from MP Roxanna Collet. Since the official launch of the initiative, 853 dogs have already been registered and identified with microchips. The minister specified that each registration costs Rs 350. This initiative aims to enhance control, traceability, and animal welfare, while also limiting the proliferation of stray dogs throughout the country.
