Bois-des-Amourettes: Police Officer Attacked by Dog During Chase
A police officer was injured in Bois-des-Amourettes, in the Vieux Grand-Port region, during a chase that took place on Sunday evening. He was attacked by a Cane Corso dog while pursuing a suspect accused of domestic violence.
The dog bit him after it intervened in his path. In an attempt to avoid the attack, the officer twisted his ankle. His colleague managed to fend off the animal using a telescopic baton.
The officer was taken to the Mahébourg hospital, where a sprain was diagnosed.
An investigation is ongoing to identify the owner of the dog.
