Nobel Prize: The 2025 Nobel Prize in Literature Awarded to Hungarian Writer Laszlo Krasznahorkai

The 2025 Nobel Prize in Literature has been awarded to Hungarian writer László Krasznahorkai, 71, announced the jury on Thursday, October 9. Described as "a hypnotic writer," he is known for his absurdism and grotesque excess.

"He draws you in until the world he evokes resonates and reverberates within you, until it becomes your own vision of order and chaos," stated his English translator, poet George Szirtes, to AFP in 2016.
