Since January, the Bank of Mauritius (BoM) has intervened eleven times in the foreign exchange market to stabilize the Mauritian rupee. A total of 160 million dollars have been injected into the system through these operations. The latest intervention occurred on Thursday, October 9, during which 15 million dollars were sold, according to data released by the central bank.

  • January 27: 15 million dollars sold at Rs 46.30 per dollar

March

  • March 24: 15 million dollars sold at Rs 45.60 per dollar

April

  • April 14: 10 million dollars sold at Rs 45 per dollar

July

  • July 18: 20 million dollars sold at Rs 45.70 per dollar

August
