Law and Order: Lesjongard to Question the PM on Reported Assaults Since January 2025
The state of "Law and Order" in the country will be the focus of a Private Notice Question (PNQ) from the opposition leader in the National Assembly this Friday afternoon, October 10.
Joe Lesjongard will direct his question to Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam.
The opposition leader seeks information from the Commissioner of Police regarding the number of reported assault cases since January 2025 to date.
He will specifically request the breakdown of these cases by:
(a) the number of fatal assaults;
(b) the arrests made, specifying whether the suspects are repeat offenders or if they committed these offenses while on bail or parole;
(c) assaults against police officers in the line of duty;
(d) and finally, the number of unresolved cases.
The PNQ will be broadcast live on Radio Plus and on the Facebook page of defimedia.info starting at 3 PM.
