Reopening of the Investigation into Kistnen's Death: 'I Hope Justice Will Be Served,' Says His Wife

"This is great news... I hope that this time, justice will be served for my husband." This is how Simla Kistnen reacted in a statement to Radio Plus on Friday, October 10, following the announcement by Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam regarding the reopening of the investigation into her husband's death.

"It's a relief," she confides, recalling that it will soon be five years since her husband's passing.

In response to a Private Notice Question (PNQ) from the opposition leader in the National Assembly this afternoon, the Prime Minister announced that the investigation into the circumstances surrounding Soopramanien Kistnen's death will be reopened next month.

For context, Soopramanien Kistnen, a former MSM agent, was found burned in a sugarcane field in Telfair, Moka, in October 2020.
