One Million Tourists Achieved: Richard Duval Praises an "Extraordinary Result" Despite Criticism

Despite being in the low season, Mauritius has surpassed the one million visitor mark. This is an "extraordinary result," according to the Minister of Tourism, Richard Duval, even in light of the criticisms that have arisen since he took office.
The minister responded to a media question on this topic on Saturday, following a wreath-laying ceremony held in honor of the late Sir Gaëtan Duval, on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of his birth, at St. John's cemetery.
Richard Duval also announced a new target of 1.4 million tourists by 2025, with an estimated revenue of Rs 100 billion. He emphasized the importance of exploring other markets, particularly through improved connectivity with Qatar and Asia, among others.
