Drug Trafficking: Mother and Daughter Arrested by the Rose-Belle Anti-Drug Unit

A long-term undercover operation conducted by the anti-drug squad (Adsu) in Rose-Belle resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of psychotropic substances. Officers managed to apprehend two key players in a regional network on Sunday, October 12.

The team led by Sergeant Vydelingum had identified a wooded area in Rose-Belle that served as a cache for pills classified under the Dangerous Drugs Act. During this discreet surveillance operation, a car driven by Mehzabeen Kirdalikhan Nehalkhan, known as Zabine, stopped at the location. Her daughter, 19-year-old Bibi Zahra Rujubally, exited the vehicle and rushed into the wooded area.

She was followed and surrounded by Adsu officers, who discovered 2,224 pills, worth Rs 667,200, in a garbage bag she was carrying. The Adsu also arrested her mother. Both have been placed in police custody.

On Monday, they were provisionally charged with drug trafficking in the Mahébourg court. Mehzabeen Kirdalikhan Nehalkhan is no stranger to the police, having previously been arrested for offenses related to psychotropic drug trafficking.
