Public Transport: A New Disciplinary Committee to Combat Abuse

The National Land Transport Authority (NLTA) has restructured its disciplinary committee to address abuses in public transport. This announcement was made on Tuesday afternoon, October 14, by the Transport Minister, Osman Mahomed.

The committee, chaired by Me Aratee Prayag and vice-chaired by Yunus Casim Morad, consists of six members.

The minister also indicated that a budget of Rs 70 million has been allocated to the Fleet Management Scheme, which aims to install GPS systems in 2,000 buses. The bidding process is underway, with implementation expected by next year.
