The World's Tallest Bridge Inaugurated in China

China officially inaugurated the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge, now the tallest bridge in the world, on September 28, 2025, in Guizhou province. This engineering marvel towers over the Beipan River gorge, reaching an impressive height of 625 meters from the roadway to the riverbed, surpassing the previous record held by the Duge Bridge.

Among the major attractions is Interstellar Coffee, a fully glass-enclosed panoramic café located at the top of one of the bridge's towers, approximately 800 meters above the ground. Visitors can access it via a high-speed glass elevator that takes them to the summit in less than a minute.

The café spans two floors and offers breathtaking 360° views of the canyon and mountains. A glass walkway positioned beneath the roadway allows visitors to walk above the void and admire the scenery 580 meters below.

With a total length of 2,890 meters, the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge ranks among the longest and most advanced suspension bridges in the world. Its main span measures 1,420 meters, supported by two towers measuring 262 meters and 205 meters.

The structure employs a 22,000-ton steel truss suspension system, equivalent to three Eiffel Towers. Fiber optic sensors integrated into the cables monitor temperature, vibrations, and stresses in real time to quickly detect any issues.

Construction began on January 18, 2022, and concluded in early 2025 after three years of high-precision engineering. This spectacular bridge showcases China's rapid advancements in the design and construction of large infrastructures.
