Port-Louis Court: Police and FCC Oppose Renganaden Padayachy's Travel Request
At the Port-Louis court, the joint objections from the police and the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) were raised against former Finance Minister Renganaden Padayachy's travel request on Tuesday morning. The ex-minister sought court permission to travel abroad — specifically to France, England, and India — between October 25, 2025, and January 31, 2026, for professional activities.
Discussions regarding this request will take place on October 21, 2025.
It is important to note that Renganaden Padayachy has been arrested twice:
• First, in connection with an investigation by the Anti-Money Laundering Unit regarding an alleged misappropriation of Rs 45 million from the Mauritius Investment Corporation (MIC), benefiting Menlo Park Ltd;
• Then, in a second case led by the FCC, concerning an alleged misappropriation of Rs 300 million, also to the detriment of the MIC and in favor of Apavou Hotels Ltd.
