Alleged Defamation: Gérard Sanspeur Demands Rs 100 Million in Damages from Rama Sithanen
Gérard Sanspeur is demanding Rs 100 million in damages from Rama Sithanen. The case is set to be heard in the Supreme Court on November 6.
The former Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Mauritius accuses Rama Sithanen of making defamatory remarks about him during a press conference held on August 29, when Sithanen was still serving as the Governor of the Bank of Mauritius.
These statements were also said to have been reiterated during a radio show on September 5. Additionally, Gérard Sanspeur is seeking a public apology from the former Governor of the BoM.
