Land Conversion Permit: The Ministry of Agro-Industry Launches a Help Desk

If you are in the process of obtaining a land conversion permit, be aware that a new assistance desk is now available at the Ministry of Agro-Industry.

Many applicants continue to rely on intermediaries, which prolongs the processing times and often leads to the rejection of applications. This help desk aims to directly assist the public with these procedures.

Last year, the Ministry of Agro-Industry recorded 885 applications for land conversion permits. However, a large number were rejected due to technical errors. This permit, regarded as a vital key for changing the use of agricultural land—whether for construction, project development, or investment—remains difficult to obtain.

Since 2021, applications must be submitted online via the national e-licensing system, accessible on the Economic Development Board (EDB) website. Unfortunately, many applicants delegate this task to intermediaries and do not follow the process themselves. As a result, they often remain unaware of the status of their application, which can be canceled due to invalid documents or inaccurate information.

To address this situation, the Ministry of Agro-Industry has established a help desk where officers guide applicants, verify documents, and assist them in the online submission process.

This new service, completely free of charge, aims to facilitate the preparation of applications, expedite their processing, and enhance transparency towards the public.
