Asia-Pacific: Pakistan and Afghanistan Agree on an 'Immediate Ceasefire'

Pakistan and Afghanistan reached an agreement on Sunday for an 'immediate ceasefire' following talks in Qatar aimed at restoring lasting peace at their border, which has seen confrontations resulting in dozens of casualties, as reported by Doha.

During these negotiations, 'both parties agreed to an immediate ceasefire and the establishment of mechanisms to strengthen lasting peace and stability,' stated a communiqué.
