Weather Update: Chenge Approaches Agalega

A tropical depression named Chenge has intensified into a moderate tropical storm. This was confirmed by a statement from the Vacoas Meteorological Station issued at 4 PM on Sunday, October 19.

The system, which was located near Diego Garcia, is moving westward and is expected to approach Agalega by mid-next week.

The weather on the island will gradually become overcast, with thunderstorms and rain. Winds will strengthen with gusts reaching up to 90 km/h, and the sea will become rough to very rough.
