Fort Victoria: A 22-Year-Old Man Drowns
A tragedy occurred on the afternoon of Sunday, October 19, at Fort Victoria. A 22-year-old man, Joey Alison Christ, lost his life due to drowning. His body was recovered by the National Coast Guard, with assistance from emergency services.
According to initial reports from the scene, the victim was fishing with a teenager when their line became snagged near the shore. While attempting to untangle it, Joey Alison Christ encountered difficulties in the water and disappeared beneath the surface.
The body was transported to the morgue at Dr. A.G. Jeetoo Hospital, as ordered by the coroner. The Bain-des-Dames police have opened an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of this tragedy.
