Richelieu: 20-Year-Old Escapee Arrested This Morning After Several Hours on the Run

The manhunt for Jonathan Christophe Beauyeux, the 20-year-old inmate who escaped from Richelieu prison yesterday, October 21, has come to an end. He was arrested this morning around 7 AM during a joint operation by the DCIU and the CID of Petite Rivière.

Beauyeux, a resident of Cité La Ferme in Bambous, was serving time for multiple theft offenses and was scheduled for release in January 2026. However, he decided to escape just three months before his scheduled freedom.

Prison authorities had promptly launched a large-scale search operation, describing the escape as "unexpected and concerning."
