The director of Diagnos Clinique, Mrs. Tasleemah Joomun-Peerally, has passed away. She departed in the early hours of Tuesday, October 21, after a prolonged battle with illness. Her funeral took place that afternoon in Trois Îlots.
Her husband, Dr. Saleem Peerally, described her as an "extraordinarily generous, smiling, always pleasant, and always positive" woman. Tasleemah Joomun-Peerally left this world as she lived: quietly and discreetly. She took her last breath in her sleep.
"When she passed, it was very slow and peaceful, in her sleep, at 2 AM on Tuesday, October 21," Dr. Peerally told Défi Media Group. Although overwhelmed by the pain of her untimely departure, he acknowledged that her death was not unexpected, given the inevitable outcome of her illness.
"Everyone knew Tasleemah as an extraordinarily generous, smiling, always pleasant, and always positive woman. Everyone is unique, but she was both unique and rare," Dr. Peerally continued, emotionally recalling how he stayed by her side day and night until the end. He fondly recalls one of their most beautiful memories: "The first moments we experienced together, sitting on a jetty at Trou-aux-Biches, watching the sunset. She told me at that moment that it was so beautiful she could die now."
Her brother, Irfaan Joomun, emphasized that despite her illness, Tasleemah never stopped fighting. "She was always a fighter. She leaves a great void behind," he said.
At the age of 43, Tasleemah Joomun-Peerally was the director of Diagnos Clinique. A former journalist at Radio Plus, she also contributed to News on Sunday, a publication of the Défi Media Group, and worked at the Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation (MBC). Passionate about communication, she also led the agency CommuniKaza.
Défi Media Group extends its heartfelt condolences to the family of Tasleemah Joomun-Peerally, her loved ones, and all those affected by this loss.
