Suspicion of Irregularities at the ICC: Feizal Dil Hossain Submits Documents to the FCC Regarding Hajj 2025 Management
Feizal Dil Hossain, a former board member of the Islamic Cultural Centre (ICC), is expected at the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) on Wednesday, October 22. He is set to provide evidence concerning allegations of irregularities in the organization of the Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca in May 2025. According to the complainant, several irregularities occurred in the allocation of visas to pilgrims. The ICC has a list of registered individuals, and visas are typically issued based on a numbering order.
On October 13, Feizal Dil Hossain had already filed a complaint with the FCC regarding fraud and favoritism. He cited five visa beneficiaries he deems ineligible, yet their names appear on the list under questionable circumstances. Accompanied by his lawyer, Me Assad Peeroo, he claims that an initial decision by the ICC board excluded these five individuals before a subsequent meeting reversed that decision. He asserts that seven board members approved these allocations, which he considers fraudulent.
Feizal Dil Hossain also mentions violations of the ICC Act in the organization of the Hajj. When contacted by Le Défi Quotidien, Me Assad Peeroo stated that his client possesses "evidence showing several irregularities committed by certain board members of the ICC." Three ICC officials have been suspended following a report on the Hajj organization: Director Abdool Azize Owasil, Hajj Officer Mohammad Moortooza Boodhoo, and driver Riad Sherif Toofany.
