Dominican Republic: A 19-Year-Old French Tourist Arrested with 1.6 kg of Cocaine in His Stomach

In the fight against drug trafficking, a 19-year-old French tourist will have to explain his actions before the courts. He was arrested at the airport in Santo Domingo while attempting to leave the Dominican Republic with 1.6 kg of cocaine in small packets that he had ingested, local authorities announced on Tuesday.

Following a transfer to a health center, "he expelled 141 packets of cocaine, wrapped in black and blue latex," according to a statement from the National Directorate of Drug Control.
