Simulation Exercise: When Plaisance Airport Prepares for Any Contingency

A captivating event caught the attention of passersby on Wednesday, October 22! Images from the event have circulated widely on social media. It was a simulation exercise related to an aircraft accident at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport in Plaisance. The operation, known as Fire Ball 2025, aimed to test the responsiveness of emergency services.

A strong mobilization of various stakeholders was observed, including firefighters, the Special Mobile Force (SMF), the Ministry of Health, police, the Helicopter Squadron team, Airports of Mauritius Ltd staff, and the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), to ensure a swift response in accordance with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) requirements.
