World Day for the Refusal of Poverty: Children Share Their Vision for the Future Through Art
As part of World Day for the Refusal of Poverty 2025, the Ministry of Social Integration, Social Security, and National Solidarity, in collaboration with the National Empowerment Foundation (NEF), organized an event titled "Live Drawing and Painting Platform" on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at La Place du Caudan.
This vibrant morning brought together 40 children from families benefiting from the NEF, who participated in a live drawing and painting session themed "Your Vision for the Future: What You Want to Become." Through their creations, these young artists expressed their dreams, hopes, and aspirations for a better future, showcasing their imagination, resilience, and determination.
The event featured the presence of Ashok Kumar Subron, Minister of Social Integration, Social Security, and National Solidarity, along with Deputy Minister Kugun Parapen, Permanent Secretary Mrs. Auladin-Auckbarally, NEF Board Chairman Mr. Ramchurn, other board members, and Mrs. Jogessur, Officer in charge of the NEF, among others.
In their speeches, the ministers praised the strong participation of the children and congratulated them for their creativity and perseverance. They encouraged them to never give up on their dreams while reaffirming the government's commitment to supporting children from vulnerable backgrounds by providing them with the resources necessary to achieve their ambitions and build a better future.
The day was also highlighted by a musical performance from the children of the Movement for Progress of Roche-Bois (MPRB), who captivated the audience with their talent and energy. The group also hosted a live sculpture stand, allowing visitors to admire artistic expression in all its forms—from music to painting to sculpture.
Through this initiative, the NEF reaffirms its commitment to empowering vulnerable families and promoting social inclusion. The drawings, paintings, sculptures, and musical performances by the children remain a vibrant testament to their voices and their vision of a more equitable, inclusive, and hopeful future.
