Thirsty Bistro: A New Venue by Oxenham Group Where Friendliness Takes Root in Moka

With the Thirsty Bistro, the Oxenham Group opened a venue on October 23rd that merges enjoyment, sharing, and craftsmanship. Nestled in the vibrant Telfair district of Moka, this new spot represents a natural extension of the Oxenham universe, featuring its Thirsty Fox brand and the expertise of SIP, a subsidiary known for its wide range of products from refined beverages to gourmet delights. This unique venue celebrates brewing, winemaking, and culinary skills in a spirit of friendliness that has defined the company for nearly a century.

The Thirsty Bistro was envisioned as a natural extension of this universe: a place to gather, discover, and savor.

A Place Designed for Enjoyment and Sharing

Born from a close collaboration between the teams at Oxenham and SIP, the Thirsty Bistro is the result of thoughtful reflection and a shared passion for quality work. Here, you can find the richness of Oxenham's portfolio: a selection of wines, rums, beers, and the now-iconic Pierre Poivre Craft Distilled Gin.

"We wanted to create a place that represents us: simple, authentic, and open to everyone who enjoys sharing good moments," explains Melissa Doger de Spéville, Communication & Hospitality Sales Manager.

Mauritian Bistro Menu

Designed to accompany every moment of the day, from brunch to dinner, the menu at Thirsty Bistro, carefully crafted by SIP's teams, reinterprets bistronomy classics with a local twist. From fresh salads to gourmet burgers, savory grilled dishes to seasonal daily specials, every item exudes friendliness and generosity to please a broad audience. At the bar, the complete Thirsty Fox range, house cocktails, and a selection of wines from around the world invite exploration.

Two Floors, Two Ambiances

Thirsty Bistro spans two complementary levels: the lively and warm ground floor, perfect for toasting with friends or sharing a meal in a relaxed atmosphere, and the more intimate upstairs area, designed for tastings, private dinners, and exclusive events. Each space has been crafted to offer a unique atmosphere: modern yet infused with the artisanal warmth that Oxenham is known for.

A Place for Knowledge and Experience

Beyond being a venue for enjoying a good drink and sharing dishes, Thirsty Bistro is also a space for discovery and connection. Tastings, masterclasses, and food-wine pairings will enrich the programming throughout the year, extending Oxenham's mission to share the taste and knowledge of quality products.

The Connoisseur: Continue the Experience at Home

Next to the bistro, the new shop, Le Connoisseur, offers the beers, wines, and spirits sampled on-site, allowing guests to extend the Oxenham experience at home. This Mokas venue adds to existing shops in Grand Baie, Rivière Noire, Curepipe, Phoenix, Beau Vallon, and Rodrigues, strengthening the group’s premium distribution network.

From Foxtoberfest to Thirsty Bistro: A Story That Continues

The opening of Thirsty Bistro also marks the conclusion of the fifth edition of Foxtoberfest. However, this year the celebration does not end; it finds new life in Moka. Around a table, with a drink and rekindled friendships, the spirit of Thirsty Fox and the creativity of the Oxenham Group will be experienced year-round.

Partners' Words

"Thirsty Bistro is fundamentally a story of passion and sharing. We wanted to create a lively place where people gather over a good meal, an artisan beer, or a glass of wine, in a simple, sincere, and warm atmosphere. This project is born from our teams' creativity and commitment and reflects our desire to explore new horizons while remaining true to our heritage and values," says Frédérick Oxenham, CEO of SIP.

"Like any great celebration, Foxtoberfest comes to an end... but some stories deserve to continue over a drink, at a fine table, and through good moments shared among family, friends, and colleagues," states Gregory Oxenham, Off Trade & Restaurant Sales Manager at Oxenham.
