Decree: Andry Rajoelina Loses Malagasy Nationality

According to a decree made public on Friday, October 24, signed by Prime Minister Herintsalama Rajaonarivelo, former Malagasy President Andry Rajoelina has lost his Malagasy nationality.

The text cites Article 42 of the Malagasy Nationality Code, which stipulates the loss of nationality in the event of acquiring a foreign nationality.

According to the Malagasy press, this decision is based on Andry Rajoelina's French naturalization in 2014 as a justification for this revocation.
