Bilateral Meeting Between Navin Ramgoolam and the Vice President of India in Seychelles
Prime Minister Dr. Navin Ramgoolam will depart from Mauritius on the afternoon of Saturday, October 25, to travel to Seychelles, where he will attend the swearing-in ceremony of the new President of the Republic, Dr. Patrick Herminie.
The event is scheduled for the afternoon of Sunday, October 26, 2025, and will be attended by several foreign dignitaries, including the Vice President of India, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan. During this ceremony, the Mauritian Prime Minister will hold a bilateral meeting with the Indian Vice President.
This trip marks Dr. Ramgoolam's second participation in a presidential inauguration in Seychelles. In August 2006, he attended the inauguration ceremony of former President James Michel, being the only head of government to accept the official invitation from the Seychellois authorities.
This symbolic gesture illustrates the friendship and historical solidarity between Mauritius and Seychelles, two sister nations united within the Indian Ocean Commission (IOC).
