Launch of 'TWA Pu Lavenir': A New Momentum for Mauritian Youth
The Château Mon Désir at the Maritim Resort & Spa in Balaclava was the venue for an evening of commitment and hope on Friday, October 24, 2025. On this occasion, the Andrey & Julia Dashin Foundation officially launched the 'TWA Pu Lavenir' initiative, a national training and employability program aimed at the Mauritian youth.
The ceremony gathered a distinguished audience, including Reza Uteem, the Minister of Labor and Industrial Relations, who was the Chief Guest of the evening, alongside Junior Minister of Finance Dhaneshwar Damry, as well as partners from the private sector and educational institutions.
In his speech, Andrey Dashin, the founder of the foundation, reiterated the philosophy that has guided his actions for over a decade: "Compassion must always be accompanied by action." He emphasized that Mauritius is for him "a second home" and a place where it is possible to empower youth to build a future with dignity, skills, and confidence.
The 'TWA Pu Lavenir' program, which stands for Train. Work. Achieve., offers a twelve-month pathway that combines certified vocational training, supervised internships, and mentorship in the hospitality sector. Implemented in partnership with Think Career, an institution accredited by the MQA, its goal is to enhance employability and autonomy for the young beneficiaries. The foundation announced that it would fully finance the first cohort of 50 participants, covering their training, mentoring, and internship costs, while inviting Mauritian companies to support future cohorts.
Reza Uteem praised the foundation's work, noting that the program goes far beyond vocational training, restoring confidence in young people and preparing them to face the job market. He stressed the importance of valuing all forms of work and forming a resilient youth capable of overcoming challenges.
The evening was also marked by the presentation of a recognition certificate to Anil Lokhee, director of Think Career, from Natalia Ryaba, Head of the Andrey & Julia Dashin Foundation, for his key role in implementing the program.
