North: Water Cuts Expected Until Thursday for Maintenance Work

Water cuts are scheduled in the northern region of the country starting tomorrow and lasting until Thursday due to significant maintenance work on the valves of the main pipeline of the Irrigation Authority.

The affected areas include: Triolet, Solitude, Pointe-aux-Piments, Pointe-aux-Biches, Trou-aux-Biches, Morcellement St. André, Mon Choisy, Pointe-aux-Canonniers, Vale, Grand-Baie, Chemin Vingt Pieds, Pérèybere, Calodyne, St. François, Cap Malheureux, Petit Raffray, Réunion Maurel, and nearby localities.

Farmers will not be able to irrigate their fields on Wednesday and are advised to take precautions.

According to Sunil Gopal, communication officer of the Central Water Authority (CWA), water tankers will be deployed to mitigate these disruptions. He recommends that subscribers stock up on enough water in anticipation of the cuts.
