Grays Inc. Ltd Welcomes the AMM Community – Made in Moris for a Corporate Happy Hour

On Friday, October 17, local expertise was showcased as Grays Inc. Ltd, proudly holding the Made in Moris label, welcomed fellow label members for a corporate happy hour held in the heart of Beau Plan. The event aimed to highlight the New Grove Distillery brand and its connection to Mauritian heritage.

The gathering began with a warm welcome at L’Aventure du Sucre, followed by an immersive tour of the distillery. Participants explored the behind-the-scenes processes of producing New Grove, Lazy Dodo, and Mauricia rums, from sugarcane harvesting to the various stages of distillation and aging. A refined tasting session in the aging cellar allowed guests to appreciate the richness and complexity of the rums, showcasing the craftsmanship and quality that define the brands. Visitors also had the opportunity to preview the new museum pathways at L’Aventure du Sucre, which include an innovative immersion into the world of rum.

This event is part of the programming for the Mauritian Manufacturers Association and the Made in Moris label. Florence de Coriolis, Rum Brand Manager at Grays Inc. Ltd, emphasized, "‘Made in Moris’ provides total transparency to consumers, both local and international, strengthening trust in our products. The traceability from field to bottle highlights each step of this Mauritian expertise, from environmentally friendly agricultural techniques to production methods that uphold the reputation of our rums. We view ‘Made in Moris’ as an ecosystem conducive to the emergence of new ideas while valuing our industrial and artisanal heritage."

Beyond the tasting, participants appreciated the emphasis on sustainability, the quality of raw materials, and respect for local traditions—all factors contributing to the distillery’s international reputation.
