Parliamentary Question: Synthetic Drugs: 974 Arrests Since January
The scourge of synthetic drugs continues to engage authorities. In response to a parliamentary question from MP Khushal Lobine, Navin Ramgoolam revealed that 974 suspects have been arrested between January and October 23 in cases related to the consumption, sale, or trafficking of synthetic drugs.
According to data provided by the police, 446 adults have been apprehended for consumption, of which 232 have been provisionally charged, and 119 have opted for rehabilitation.
