Controversy Surrounding Sanjay Dawoodarry at the Helm of the FCC - Gavin Glover: "There is a Misunderstanding Surrounding the Law"

Gavin Glover, the Attorney-General, commented on Friday evening regarding the controversy surrounding Titrudeo "Sanjay" Dawoodarry's position as the acting director of the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC). In a statement to the Défi Media Group, he asserted that this appointment complies with the law, dismissing allegations of irregularities made by the legal panel of Malagasy billionaire Mamy Ravatomanga at a press conference earlier that day. "As of now, Mr. Dawoodarry is the acting director of the FCC and he is doing so completely legally. All procedures have been followed for his appointment. There is a misunderstanding surrounding the law. While he is substantially the director of investigations at the FCC, he has been appointed as the acting director general. When his first nine months ended last September, he was reappointed after two days for a second period of nine months. There has not been a renewal or extension of his contract; rather, he has been given another contract."
