The Lux Collective and Big Waves Development Sign a Strategic Partnership to Launch the SALT of Virgin Beach Hotel in Bali

The award-winning international hotel group, The Lux Collective, and Big Waves Development, a globally recognized development company with an expanding portfolio, have officially signed a strategic hotel management agreement for the SALT of Virgin Beach — a new eco-friendly resort located in the preserved region of Karangasem, Bali. Set to open in the first quarter of 2028, this milestone marks The Lux Collective's first venture into Indonesia with its sustainable luxury brand SALT, situated in the stunning island of Bali.

Nestled in Karangasem, East Bali, Virgin Beach is a true hidden gem. Known for its pristine coastline, white sandy beaches, and crystal-clear turquoise waters, this idyllic bay is surrounded by lush hills and spectacular cliffs.

In this setting of exceptional natural beauty, SALT of Virgin Beach will offer a peaceful seaside retreat away from the tourist hustle and bustle.

Designed for eco-conscious travelers and families mindful of their impact, this contemporary boutique hotel will be built in perfect harmony with its surroundings. It will feature 84 elegant and thoughtfully furnished rooms, offering breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean and the majestic Mount Agung, Bali's spiritual emblem.

Rooted in deep sustainability values, this project aims to preserve the island's biodiversity, particularly through coral reef restoration initiatives while promoting authentic cultural integration. The hotel will eliminate plastic, implement a waste sorting system, and exclusively use sulfate-free products to minimize its environmental impact.

SALT of Virgin Beach will also include a contemporary rooftop event space, perfect for weddings and celebrations, an artisanal bakery showcasing local agricultural products, as well as the signature SALT Equilibrium spa, offering immersive wellness treatments, float therapy, a cryo-sauna, and a G-bar dedicated to beauty and mental wellness.

"Our strategic partnership with The Lux Collective is based on a shared vision: shaping the art of conscious living for tomorrow," stated Maryna Bilobrovska, CEO of Big Waves Development. "We are inspired by hospitality leaders who innovate and lead the way. As a global leader in hospitality, The Lux Collective's sustainable SALT brand will enhance our eco-centric lifestyle concept, where luxury meets sustainability."

"As part of our global expansion and focus on the Asian region, this collaboration with Big Waves Development marks our group’s first entry into Indonesia, in the vibrant destination of Bali, with our committed SALT brand," added Olivier Chavy, CEO of The Lux Collective. "Big Waves is a visionary developer, dedicated to creating high-end projects and communities. We are excited to partner with a team that shares our values of excellence."

"We are particularly enthusiastic about bringing the spirit of SALT from Mauritius to the shores of Bali. SALT embodies a humanistic approach to hospitality, connecting modern explorers with authentic travel experiences. By highlighting the soul of each destination and supporting local communities, SALT offers a new form of hospitality for culture-curious travelers. True to local and sustainable values, SALT of Virgin Beach will guide our guests to meet locals and immerse themselves in the cultural heritage, providing not just a glimpse of the places but a deep dive into the very essence of Bali," emphasized Nitesh Pandey, Operations Director – Asia-Pacific of The Lux Collective.

Big Waves Development is recognized for its commitment to innovation, quality, and long-term sustainability. The global company continues to integrate its environmental philosophy into each of its projects. Furthermore, SALT of Virgin Beach has already received several international awards, including the prestigious Asia Pacific Property Awards, where it won in the categories of "New Hotel Construction and Design" and "Architecture – Multiple Residences" in Indonesia. These accolades highlight the unique architectural character and innovative design vision of this eagerly awaited resort, built around a strong and differentiating concept.

Hotel demand in Bali continues to grow, supported by international investors and wealthy travelers seeking prestige and service in a safe and forward-looking destination. According to regional reports, Bali is preparing for the arrival of new high-end hotel projects in the coming years — particularly focused on sustainability and eco-friendly concepts.

Driven by a shared vision and commitment to conscious hospitality, Big Waves Development and The Lux Collective are establishing a new benchmark in responsible travel. More than just a destination, SALT of Virgin Beach invites its guests to embrace a lifestyle rich in meaning, elevated by design and inspired by the very essence of Bali.
