Suspected of Theft: Worker Dies After Violent Assault

The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of Terre Rouge is investigating the death of a worker suspected of theft at a construction site in the area. The man was reportedly violently assaulted this Sunday by a contractor before being taken to the hospital, where he later died.

According to initial information gathered by investigators, the victim was working on the site when he was allegedly caught stealing by the contractor. The contractor then assaulted him. The worker reportedly returned to his car while the contractor left the scene.

Later that day, upon returning to the site, the contractor found the worker, a local resident, still sitting in his car. A new argument reportedly erupted between the two men, during which the worker's vehicle was damaged.

Shortly after, the victim indicated he was feeling unwell. He was transported to the hospital but did not survive his injuries.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday to determine the exact cause of death.
