The MCINE cinema in Curepipe hosted the grand premiere of the film 'Girmitiya: The Unsung Hero' on Friday, October 31. This historical work, lasting one hour, was directed and produced by Varun Nunkoo in collaboration with the National Arts Fund, Swastika Mauritius, and GOPIO International. This screening, organized to commemorate the arrival of indentured laborers, holds a particularly symbolic and emotional significance for Mauritius.
