Warning: Fake News!

On Wednesday, November 5, 2025 - 08:13, a false news story is circulating on social media featuring a photo with the headline, "A surprise for all of Mauritius! Natacha Appanah didn’t know what the camera was filming. Is this the end of her career?" The image also includes the name and logo of Défi Media Group.

This is, of course, fake news. Défi Media Group has never published this photo on its digital platforms. This misuse of its name and image undermines the credibility and journalistic integrity that the group is committed to in disseminating verified and authentic information.

Défi Media Group reserves the right to take legal action against anyone or any entity that uses its visual identity to spread false information.

The publication of fake news is a criminal offense punishable by law. Those responsible for such publications face penalties of up to ten years in prison and fines that can reach Rs 1 million if convicted by the Court.
