Energy Transition: The Government Focuses on Solar, Wind, and Biomass

A series of new projects will be launched in the coming years to accelerate the country's energy transition, announced Energy Minister Patrick Assirvaden at a press conference this afternoon.

The goal is to add 277.5 megawatts of renewable energy to the national grid.

The priority will be given to solar, wind, and biomass energy. Regarding biomass, the minister emphasized the government's aim to halve its reliance on coal. In this context, he announced the establishment of a National Biomass Framework, a national strategy designed to structure this sector. This topic is also expected to be discussed during the upcoming visit of French President Emmanuel Macron, scheduled for November 21 and 22.

When asked about the relationships within the governing alliance, Patrick Assirvaden refrained from commenting.
