Zoho Accelerates Growth in Mauritius: 33% Increase and New Office to Strengthen Regional Presence
On November 4th, during a press conference, Zoho made a significant announcement. In conjunction with the second edition of Zoholics, the company's flagship event, representatives from this global leader in cloud software solutions confirmed the upcoming opening of their first office in Mauritius. They also highlighted the company's strong performance in the country, reporting a 33% increase in local market activity over the past three years.
Zoho, one of the world leaders in cloud solutions for businesses, announced the opening of its first office in the Indian Ocean region. Located at NeXTeracom in Ébène Cybercity, this new site marks Zoho's first establishment in Mauritius and is part of the company's strategy to gradually expand its regional presence and outreach towards Africa.
The company also reported an average annual growth rate of 33% in the Mauritian market over the past three years. These announcements were made during Zoholics, the annual conference of Zoho, which offers participants a unique experience featuring lectures, hands-on workshops, and networking opportunities with experts and leaders from its ecosystem.
A Strategic Hub for Francophone Africa
Zoho is ramping up to get closer to the businesses it supports by providing enhanced service and direct interactions across its various sectors. The Mauritian office will also act as a strategic hub for Francophone Africa, offering pre-sales, sales, and training services tailored to local languages, including French and Creole.
Local Presence, Global Vision
This initiative is part of Zoho's "transnational localism" strategy, which aims to maintain a local presence while remaining globally connected. In this context, the company invests in local talent and supports regional economies by assisting local stakeholders in their language and context.
The site will also house a training center aimed at helping clients, partners, and professionals gain practical expertise in the Zoho application suite. "Mauritius holds a strategic position in our development in Francophone Africa," explains Hyther Nizam, President of Zoho Middle East and Africa. "Our establishment on the island aims to provide businesses with direct access to cloud technology, training, and local support. With its talent pool, multilingual workforce, and business-friendly environment, Mauritius enables us to support the digital transformation of organizations and extend their influence regionally," he adds.
Confirmed Growth Dynamics
Zoho's performance in Mauritius confirms a sustained growth trend. Over the past year, the company recorded a 30% increase in its local partner network, indicating a growing interest in its solutions among IT service providers and resellers in the country.
Additionally, Zoho collaborates with Mauritian SMEs to support their digital transformation initiatives at the regional level—further indicators that reinforce the decision to establish an office in Mauritius and enhance its development in the territory.
"The opening of this office reaffirms our long-term commitment to Mauritius and, more broadly, to the African continent," emphasizes Premanand Velumani, Associate Director of Strategic Growth, Zoho MEA. "We want to be a key partner in the digital transformation of local companies by creating new opportunities, supporting our partners, and helping organizations of all sizes adopt growth-driven technologies," he concludes.
Tailored Solutions and a Thriving Market
Zoho's growth in Mauritius can be attributed to the sustained demand for integrated and flexible cloud solutions, as well as the company's strategy focusing on local talent and regional partnerships to strengthen its presence on the continent.
The most popular solutions in the Mauritian market include Zoho One (business operating system), Creator (low-code platform), Desk (customer support management), CRM (customer relationship management), Books (accounting software), and Workplace (collaborative suite and enterprise messaging).
This dynamic affects several key sectors: information technology, financial services, professional services, retail, telecommunications, tourism and hospitality, agri-food, as well as real estate and construction.
