Revocation of Richard Hein: Mahen Gondeea Discusses Conflicting Reports and Unconducted Forensic Audit
In a press conference on Thursday, November 6, Mahen Gondeea explained the revocation of Richard Hein as part-time president of the Mauritius Society of Authors, citing conflicting reports and an unconducted forensic audit as key reasons.
According to the Minister of Arts and Culture, persistent tensions existed within the organization. Gondeea stated he had asked Richard Hein to "commission a forensic audit to shed light on millions of rupees that have not been paid to artists," but as of now, this audit has not been carried out.
On the other hand, Richard Hein, when contacted for his side of the story, defended himself. He claimed he was the one who alerted the ministry about the millions of rupees owed to artists and mentioned he had requested a forensic audit, but according to him, the ministry indicated it could not support him in this endeavor.
