At the pharmacy of Dr A. G. Jeetoo Hospital: armed with a metal bar, he attempts to attack a pharmacist
An incident occurred between the night of Wednesday, November 5 and Thursday, November 6 at the pharmacy of Dr A. G. Jeetoo Hospital. A 31-year-old individual caused panic by attempting to assault a pharmacist with a metal bar. The police quickly intervened and subdued the suspect, who was later released on bail after questioning.
The events began around 2:30 AM. A police officer assigned to the hospital was alerted and intervened to calm the situation. However, the man became aggressive, punching the officer in the face and threatening him with the metal bar he was wielding. Despite warnings and cautions regarding his offenses, the suspect continued to display violent behavior.
During his arrest, he resisted strongly, tearing the officer's shirt and kicking him in the leg. The injured officer received treatment on-site and was granted three days of sick leave. The metal bar, approximately 60 centimeters long, was seized as evidence. The pharmacy area is equipped with surveillance cameras, and the footage will aid in the investigation.
The suspect, arrested for assaulting an officer and possession of an offensive weapon, was taken to the Line Barracks police station. After interrogation, he was released on bail by the competent authorities. An investigation has been opened to clarify the circumstances surrounding this assault.
